TCU ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
Tracy Simien was a standout lineman who played on both sides of the football during his TCU career before going on to a lengthy stint in the NFL. After playing on the offensive line as a Frog freshman, Simien moved to the defensive line for his final three seasons, including two stellar seasons at defensive end. Simien finished his TCU career with 193 total tackles, including 32 for loss with 12.5 sacks. The Sweeny, Texas, native led the Frogs with 15 tackles for loss and four sacks as a senior. Despite going undrafted in the 1989 NFL Draft, Simien worked his way into the NFL, where he played nine seasons as a run-stopping middle linebacker for Kansas City, Pittsburgh and San Diego, including seven seasons with the Chiefs. He logged 89 career starts overall prior to his retirement following the 1999 season, totaling 477 career tackles. Simien played on three AFC West Division Champion squads with Kansas City. Following his playing career, Simien spent three seasons as an assistant coach in the NFL and NFL Europe.
