Bobby Tyler was a three-time letterman for the TCU men's basketball program where he garnered honorable mention All-Southwest Conference accolades during her senior season. The former TCU standout served as the team captain and team's top scorer during his senior campaign and was also selected as the TCU's Most Conscientious Player that season. Tyler was also a member of the 1959 Southwest Conference Championship Team during his junior season. After graduation, Tyler earned his law degree from the University of Texas Law School and embarked on a 33-year career as an attorney for the Federal Government. During his career, Tyler oversaw the Dallas legal office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms in addition to the United States Treasury Department. At the time of his retirement in 1998, Tyler's practice covered the entire State of Texas in addition to 10 surrounding states. Since concluding his career on the basketball court for the Frogs, Tyler has remained involved in TCU Athletics by serving as the former Lettermen's Board of Directors in addition to making numerous donations to the TCU Annual Fund, TCU Frog Club as well as the Ed & Rae Schollmaier Basketball Complex. Tyler has also served on the Board of Directors of the Wings of Hope Equitherapy, which is a therapeutic horseback riding program for disabled children and adults.
