Aaron Schobel concluded his career at TCU ranked as the program's all-time leader in sacks (31.0) and started 46 consecutive games, missing only the season opener during his red-shirt freshman campaign. A second team All-American award winner by the Sporting News in 2000, Schobel was selected with the 46th overall pick by the Buffalo Bills during the 2000 NFL Draft. A three-time All-Western Athletic Conference selection, Schobel was a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Award (given to the nation's best collegiate defensive player) in 1999 and was a semifinalist for the Rotary Lombardi Award (given to the nation's best lineman or linebacker in college football) during his senior campaign. Schobel was selected to play in the East-West Shrine Game during his senior season and was voted as the Defensive Most Valuable Player in the 1999 Mobile Alabama Bowl after recording three sacks against East Carolina. During his NFL career, Schobel started in 116 consecutive games for the Buffalo Bills where he earned a trip to the Pro Bowl on two occasions (2006, 2007). The former TCU football great posted a career-high 14 sacks in the 2006 season, and during a five-year stretch, Schobel ranked second in the NFL in total sacks behind Jason Taylor.
