TCU ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
Tory Plunkett is one of nine All-Americans to pass through the TCU women's tennis program all-time. Plunkett partnered with TCU Hall of Famer Rene Simpson in 1988 to earn ITCA Doubles All-American honors. Simpson was inducted into the TCU Hall of Fame in 2009. In 1988, Plunkett and Simpson finished the season ranked as the ninth-best doubles duo in the country, with Plunkett was the No. 80-ranked singles player in the nation. In 1989, Plunkett joined Margot van Overloop to make up the nation's No. 21-doubles tandem. Plunkett is tied for 10th on TCU's single-season doubles victory list and tied for sixth for combined singles and doubles wins in a season. She also was named to the All-SWC singles team in 1988, the All-SWC doubles team in 1988 and 1989 and played professionally for several years on U.S. and overseas circuits.
