TCU ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
David Walker was a 1983 All-American, where he ran the anchor leg for TCU's National Champion 4x400m relay team. He was also a member of the 4x100m relay team that finished in fourth-place that same year.
Â
Walker's 4x400m relay team ran a time of 3:02.09 to win the National Championship, as well as set a new school record in the event – a record that still remains today.
Â
An All-Southwest Conference honoree for the Horned Frogs from 1979-83, Walker was invited to the Olympic Trials in 1980, where he qualified for the team, but his Olympic dream fell short as the games were boycotted by the USA.
Â
Walker was inducted into the Hall of Fame as 2024's Vintage Honoree, and he became the 35th men's track & field athlete inducted into the TCU Hall of Fame.
