Ellie Gibson was a four-year letterwinner on the women's golf team, earning All-America honors as a senior in 1989 while also being named the TCU Female Athlete of the Year. Gibson, who earned a 78.07 stroke average in 96 career rounds, earned back-to-back All-Southwest Conference honors after posting top-four finishes in 1988 and 1989 at the league tournament. She was a member of the SWC all-decade team in the 1980s and ranked fifth nationally as a senior. Following her time at TCU, Gibson spent 13 years on the LPGA Tour, racking up 14 top-20 finishes. Gibson also competed in the 1984 and 1986 U.S. Women's Open as an amateur and is currently a member of the LPGA's Legends Tour.
