Royal West was a two-time all-conference honoree as a defensive lineman at TCU. He was selected to play in the Hula Bowl after a standout career that saw him currently rank 10th all-time in tackles for loss and sixth in sacks for a single-season. West made 40-straight career starts and was honored as the Ray McCullod SWC Sportsmanship Award honoree in 1994. He helped the Horned Frogs capture the 1994 SWC Championship and still ranks fifth in career sacks in program history.
