Bill Curtis was a two-sport athlete for TCU during his college career, competing in both track and field and football. A standout hurdler who won the 120-yard high hurdles at both the 1954 and 1956 Southwest Conference Championships, Curtis later ran the high hurdles at the U.S. Olympic trials. Following his TCU career, Curtis was selected by the San Francisco 49ers with the 332nd pick in the 1957 NFL Draft. He later became a teacher and school administrator, as well as a successful football and track and field coach for several DFW area schools. Curtis passed away in 2008.
