MTEN WimbleyHello Frog Fam!

We have hit the halfway mark of the calendar year and you know what that means . . . the 2024 academic year is almost here and fall sports are just around the corner! Student-athletes are returning to campus for summer workouts and youth summer camps are buzzing throughout campus!

I want to start by saying THANK YOU to all of you who supported the Horned Frogs 24/7 initiative! Together, we raised over $250,000, directly supporting the student-athlete experience by funding each program's discretionary account.  All (roughly) 525 student-athletes will benefit from our Frog Fam’s generosity.  I’d also like to thank those of you who have renewed or become new Block T members! Your support is paramount to our success!

Be sure to check out our current and former letterwinners in the 2024 Summer Olympics! Nine Horned Frogs will compete this summer in Paris, representing their country, and TCU!  Be on the lookout for:  Daniela Alvarez/Tania Moreno, Beach Volleyball, Spain; Rhanishka Gibbs, Women’s Swimming and Diving, Bahamas, 50-meter freestyle; Stephanie Grundsoee, Rifle, Denmark; Cam Norrie, Men’s Tennis, Great Britain; Amy Okonkwo, Women’s Basketball, Nigeria; Tomi Taiwo, Women’s Basketball, Nigeria; Hailey Van Lith, Women’s Basketball, United States, 3x3; Jadon Wuilliez, Men’s Swimming and Diving, Antigua, 100 breaststroke.  You can also catch a few Frogs if you tune into Wimbledon! Lastly, if you’d like to share an announcement of a special moment in your life with other Block T members (engagement, wedding, anniversary, births of children/grandchildren, new job or adventure, etc.), please send them our way at blockt@tcu.edu.  We’d love to connect with you and share in your joys!

BTA Playbook Divider - Elander
Josh Elander
Congratulations to former Frogball letterwinner, Josh Elander, who currently serves as Tennessee's Associate Head Baseball Coach. Elander helped guide the Volunteers to the baseball program's first-ever National Championship with a 2-1 series win over Texas A&M in the 2024 Men's College World Series.

Elander enjoyed a decorated playing career at TCU from 2010-12. He hit .333 with 39 doubles, seven triples, 18 home runs and 114 RBIs over 169 games during his three seasons in Fort Worth. Elander earned Freshman All-America honors from Louisville Slugger and Ping!Baseball in 2010 after batting .356 with 69 hits, 16 doubles, four triples, two home runs and 33 RBI in 59 games while helping TCU reach the College World Series.

After taking over as the Horned Frogs starting catcher as a sophomore, Elander earned a spot on the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. Elander started all 62 games and posted careers highs with 70 hits, 11 home runs and 43 RBIs en route to earning all-conference and Capital One Academic All-America honors in 2012.

Elander was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the sixth round of the 2012 MLB Draft and spent parts of four years in the Braves and Arizona Diamondbacks minor league systems. Elander's best season came in 2013 when he was named the Atlanta Braves Minor League Player of the Year and also won the Atlanta Braves Hank Aaron Award, which is presented annually to the organization's top hitter in the minor leagues. During his professional career, Elander hit .273 with 21 homers and 135 RBIs through 222 games.
