What resources do you find most valuable to you?
TCU has surprised me from the first day I arrived with not only the inclusion of all students, but with all the resources that facilitate academic development. I feel that as a TCU student-athlete I have all the necessary resources to combine sports and studies. On the one hand, the coaching staff and the facilities make me grow as an athlete. On the other hand, the academic support I have at my disposal helps me to better control my study time, to prepare for exams and to manage my emotions. Personally I think that the connection between sport and studies that TCU provides us is essential.
How will the education you are receiving benefit you after you leave TCU?
As I am an international student from Spain, my native language is not English. This is the first and simplest reason that will benefit me in the future: learning a new language. I believe that after I leave TCU, I will have learned a new culture, a different way of thinking and reasoning and a personal enrichment that I could not have experienced in Spain. I am lucky to be able to study abroad, but above all, to be able to do it at TCU.
What is your favorite TCU memory so far?
My favorite moment at TCU so far is when I met my beach volleyball teammates. I felt supported from day one. We have laughed and cried together and shared emotional moments inside and outside the court. When I came to TCU, I knew a fighting team, but after a year I know that this team is unstoppable. My best memory with them was every trip and every experience lived in beach volleyball tournaments. I remember the feeling of playing with goosebumps as your teammates cheer you on with all their might at every point. I have no doubt that it will be like this in the years to come and that my favorite moment will just grow bigger.
Who is one of your role models and why?
One of my role models is my mother. When I was born I connected with her. I saw a warrior, hardworking woman who also played professional beach volleyball. I always had a special connection with her. I followed in her footsteps and I continue to follow them day after day. Thanks to my mother, I have learned to value the little details that later make us a better person. I have grown up next to her with a ball in my hand. She was a mother at home and a coach in the sand. She has made me grow not only in sports and professionally, but also personally. The values that she has instilled in me are what now form the person and player that I am. To this day, at 19 years old, my mother continues to be my role model.
